Site Manager – Structural Steel Projects

BridgeFab, part of the McNab Group, delivers end-to-end steel management solutions—from drafting, 3D scanning and modelling, fabrication, to installation—all under one roof. We pride ourselves on providing safe, high-quality, and efficient steel solutions for our clients.

We are expanding our team and are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead multiple structural steel projects across Southeast QLD.

About the Role

As a Site Manager, you will oversee the delivery of several projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead, inspire, and develop high-performing site teams, driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will also build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are exceeded at every stage of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage site teams, fostering a culture of engagement, high performance, and accountability.
  • Proactively manage client relationships, maintaining open communication and acting as the primary point of contact to ensure satisfaction and project alignment.
  • Review project drawings and contribute to construction methodology, including buildability and value engineering.
  • Plan and schedule projects, ensuring materials and resources align with critical timelines.
  • Manage multiple sites weekly, attending each as required and coordinating schedules effectively.
  • Oversee site safety, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and safe work methods.
  • Identify and resolve potential quality issues, ensuring projects are delivered right the first time.
  • Implement and maintain Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  • Monitor budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities to maximise project profitability.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager overseeing structural steel or industrial projects.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, able to motivate, mentor, and guide teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Strong client relationship management experience, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and maintain trust at all levels.
  • Skilled in team leadership, mentoring, and subcontractor management.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of managing clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders effectively. Safety-focused, with a strong commitment to quality on every project.
  • Commercially minded, balancing costs, requirements, and quality to make practical decisions.
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel to our project sites and across Southeast QLD (company car is provided)
  • An OHS White Card, and current QLD driver’s licence is an essential requirement for this role
  • A QBCC Site Supervisor Licence would be advantageous, however not required
  • Computer literate with intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Please note that the successful candidate may need to undergo a pre-employment medical check
