Trade Pathways
Earn while you learn as a McNab Apprentice
Our Trade path is designed for individuals aspiring to become a Skilled Tradesperson and a future leader at McNab.
If you’re keen to kickstart your journey to becoming a Carpenter, Waterproofer, Plasterer or Painter and you bring a strong work ethic, a positive outlook, thrive in a team environment, enjoy problem-solving, and can demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, then an Apprenticeship with McNab will be the perfect fit for you.
How the program works
As a McNab Apprentice, you’ll gain valuable hands on experience by working alongside skilled trade professionals on one of our many construction projects. You’ll also be provided the opportunity to attend TAFE for theoretical learning at different stages of your Apprenticeship. This will help you gain the experience and training you need to become a qualified Tradesperson.
Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Award Winner
McNab Apprentice Xanda Kerss deservedly won the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Award at TAFE Queensland’s SkillsTech CSQ Apprentice Awards, taking out the top honour across all 15 trade categories. Xanda was recognised for his exceptional technical ability, professionalism well beyond his years, and strong leadership potential, with his craftsmanship on the BHC Social and Affordable Housing Project in Chermside setting him apart from his peers. A standout achievement included patching, painting and texturing more than 1,300sqm of soffits — work typically entrusted to highly experienced tradespeople.
