How is a traineeship different to an apprenticeship?
Traineeships and apprenticeships are similar in that they both combine on-the-job training with practical training in the classroom. However traineeships are more commonly in vocational fields including business, and normally last one to two years, while apprenticeships are typically in skilled trades such as carpentry, waterproofing or painting, and take around three to four years to complete. Mel’s Story
Mel was always the go-to tech helper at school, but didn’t realise that could turn into a career.
Through the Trainee Path, she joined our IT team as a support trainee, helping staff on site and in the office. Our Trainee Path is designed for students interested in traineeships across IT Support, Business Administration, Warehousing & Distribution, Workplace Health & Safety and more – a great option if you’re curious about construction but don’t see yourself in a traditional trade.
