- Full-time
McNab is one of the largest Construction, Development and Property groups in Australia, with turnover now exceeding $1bn each year. Despite our growth and size, we've never lost our small company DNA - which centres around genuine care for our staff, customers and all our stakeholders. Success for us isn't about awards or growth, it's when we deliver so well that our customers are proud to wear a McNab T-Shirt on weekends!
At McNab, we’re known for delivering certainty, building genuine relationships, and creating legendary outcomes for our clients, our people, and the communities we work in. The McNab Way is more than a set of values, it’s how we show up every day. We lead with care, back ourselves, pursue excellence relentlessly, and never compromise on quality, safety, or people. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Recruitment Business Partner to join our People & Culture team in Brisbane.
This is not a transactional recruitment role. We’re looking for someone who thinks commercially like a high-performing agency recruiter, but partners with care, emotional intelligence, and long-term thinking. Someone who understands that great recruitment is about building trust, assessing people deeply, and creating the right career match, not just filling vacancies.
About the Role
You’ll partner closely with leaders across the business to attract, source, assess, and secure exceptional talent across both corporate and operational functions. You’ll play a key role in workforce planning, market mapping, talent engagement, and influencing hiring decisions, while helping elevate the way recruitment is delivered across McNab.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, operates with urgency, and genuinely cares about creating positive outcomes for both candidates and the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Partner with leaders, the Recruitment Manager, and team to understand business needs, capability gaps, and future workforce requirements
-
Manage end-to-end recruitment across a variety of technical and professional roles
-
Build proactive talent pipelines and engage passive candidates through strategic sourcing approaches
-
Conduct high-quality behavioural and values-based assessments to ensure strong capability and cultural alignment
-
Provide commercial recruitment advice and market insights to influence outcomes
-
Build meaningful relationships with candidates and create an exceptional candidate experience
-
Drive recruitment activity with pace, accountability, and uncompromising standards
-
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, and employer branding
-
Support workforce planning initiatives and help identify opportunities before hiring needs become urgent
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who naturally aligns with The McNab Way.
Someone who:
-
Builds legendary relationships through genuine care, trust, and commercial understanding
-
Has the drive and tenacity to deliver results in a fast-moving environment
-
Operates with urgency, accountability, and attention to detail
-
Is curious, proactive, and always thinking ahead
-
Has the confidence to influence, challenge, and partner with leaders respectfully
-
Takes pride in assessing talent properly and matching people to the right long-term opportunities
-
Understands the balance between people outcomes and commercial outcomes
-
Leads with emotional intelligence, professionalism, and authenticity
You’ll also bring:
-
Significant experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or agency recruitment
-
Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
-
Experience recruiting across technical, professional, or operational roles, or the ability to adapt to different areas and roles quickly
-
Strong interviewing and assessment capability
-
The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and candidate care
-
A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Construction experience is desired but not essential - a passion or ability to build relationships in this space would be required
Why McNab?
At McNab, we genuinely care about our people and creating an environment where they can grow, perform, and do meaningful work.
You’ll join a high-performing, supportive team that values:
-
Care and respect for people
-
Passion and pride in what we do
-
Growth, learning, and continuous improvement
-
Accountability and ownership
-
Safety and wellbeing above all else, including access to the EAP and McNab Welling Program and annual health and fitness subsidy
- Birthday Leave and other leave programs such as additional parental leave, or purchasing additional annual leave
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping teams, influencing business outcomes, and helping people build rewarding careers with McNab.
If you’re a commercially minded recruiter who values relationships as much as results, and you’re looking to partner with a business that genuinely cares about people and performance, we’d love to hear from you.
