Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Metalwork Project Manager to join our Supplyhaus Facades team. In this role, you'll lead the successful delivery of high-quality aluminium metalwork packages across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.
Typical scope includes balustrades (including stair balustrades), unitised perforated car park screens, batten screens, sunhoods, sunblades, louvres, custom storage lockers, trellis systems and bespoke cladding panels.
Key Responsibilities
- provide expert technical advice during the design phase on buildability and value engineering, ensuring our metalwork solutions meet standards, budgets, and commercial outcomes are achieved.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, including design coordination, procurement, fabrication, logistics and installation.
- Ensure designs are compliant, coordinated and aligned with contractual requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor and support project teams to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Coordinate drafting teams, structural engineers and fabrication partners to deliver efficient installation and construction sequencing.
- Manage project budgets, programmes, resources, forecasting, progress claims and financial reporting.
- Monitor project risks, proactively identifying commercial, technical and programme issues while implementing practical solutions.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality reviews to ensure installations are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal defects.
- Travel regularly to project sites across South East Queensland, with occasional interstate or overseas travel as required.
About You
You are an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the metalwork or commercial construction industry. You thrive on building relationships, solving complex challenges and delivering exceptional outcomes for your customers. With strong commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style, you enjoy mentoring others and successfully delivering projects from concept through to completion.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Project Manager or similar role within the metalwork, architectural steel industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full project lifecycle, including design input, procurement, fabrication, logistics and site installation.
- Proven ability to successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects while maintaining programme, budget, quality and safety outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project margins, variations, claims, forecasting and cash flow.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships from project commencement through to completion.
- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, offshore drafting and fabrication teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of construction systems, contractor management, value engineering and buildability principles.
- Proven ability to identify programme, commercial and technical risks early and implement practical solutions.
- Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
- Strong technical capability, including site measuring, interpreting drawings and sketching bespoke fabrication solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Experience using Jobpac will be highly regarded.
- A current passport and driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites across South East Queensland, with occasional overseas travel if required.
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or a trade qualification within the commercial construction industry.
