We’re looking for a General Manager to take ownership of the business and lead its next phase of growth - building on our strong Queensland foundations and taking ElectroHire into new markets across Australia.

You’ll have accountability across people, safety, operations, customers, commercial performance and growth. You’ll inherit an experienced team, an established market presence and a business with the backing and resources to grow – but what comes next will be yours to shape.

You’ll be visible across the business, connected to your people and customers, and equally comfortable on site, in front of a client, or working through the numbers and strategy behind the business.

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Head of Supply & ESG, you’ll have overall accountability for ElectroHire’s performance and direction. You will be responsible for:

• Leading and developing the ElectroHire team, creating clear expectations, accountability and a strong performance culture.
• Providing visible safety leadership across a high-risk environment and keeping safe systems of work at the forefront of how the business operates.
• Owning the ElectroHire P&L and driving financial and commercial performance.
• Developing and executing the business plan and strategic priorities for profitable, sustainable growth.
• Drive the adoption and implementation of new technology with a strong focus on innovation, delivering safer, smarter and more transparent solutions across our sites while enhancing the capability and efficiency of our internal maintenance and service teams
• Setting the strategic direction for business development, working with the Sales Manager to grow key client relationships and pursue opportunities across existing and new markets.
• Working closely with the Delivery Manager to ensure the people, fleet and operational capability are in place to deliver and grow.
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen ElectroHire’s market position, service offering, systems and overall performance.
• Maintaining a strong leadership presence across Yatala, Sumner Park and McNab Head Office in Brisbane, ensuring our operational teams remain closely connected to the broader business.

About you:

You’re an experienced leader who knows how to earn the trust of both an operational workforce and your customers.

You understand that credibility in this environment isn’t built from behind a desk. You know what it takes to lead experienced people in operational, site-based and high-risk environments. You’re comfortable setting clear expectations, giving direct feedback and making tough calls while building the trust and respect of your team.

Ideally, you’ve come from construction, construction services, equipment hire, lifting and rigging, access equipment, temporary works or a similar operational environment that allows you to understand site processes. You may have led your own business, run a business unit or held a substantial operational or commercial leadership role with genuine accountability for performance and growth.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Significant leadership experience in construction, construction services, equipment hire or a comparable operational environment.
• Credibility leading operational, trade or site-based teams, with a strong understanding of safety and risk.
• Demonstrated success strengthening and growing a business or business unit, with the ambition to scale operations and capitalise on the backing of a growth-oriented group.
• Strong commercial acumen and accountability for financial performance.
• The ability to identify opportunities, win work and build long-term commercial relationships.
• A strong understanding of commercial construction, site operations and the expectations of builders and project teams.
