We’re looking for a passionate, people focused leader to take ownership of Finance Operations across the McNab Group.
With continued growth across our business both in volume and diversity, this role is critical in ensuring our core finance processes run seamlessly with clear communication, dependable timelines, and a high level of service to the business.
This newly developed leadership role if for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building high-performing teams, and takes pride in running best-in-class transactional finance functions. You’ll lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll, while partnering closely with operations to ensure Finance is easy to deal with and delivers certainty on time and at every touchpoint.
About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, you’ll be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of transactional finance services across the Group. You’ll set the standard for how Finance shows up being clear, responsive, and reliable, ensuring the business knows what to expect and can plan around it.
You’ll also play a key role in driving process improvement and system enhancements, partnering with the Finance Systems team while owning the operational outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the AP, AR and Payroll teams, driving a high-performance, accountable and service oriented culture
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, including payments, collections and reconciliations
- Act as the primary link between Finance and Operations, setting expectations and improving communication across projects and business units
- Act as the escalation point for complex queries across payroll, suppliers and customers
- Drive transparent reporting across KPIs, performance, and service delivery to the business
- Maintain and strengthen control frameworks, ensuring compliance across all transactional processes
- Partner with the business and broader Finance function to set and manage service expectations across Finance Operations
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability and accuracy
- Support system and process change initiatives as the operational owner
The Ideal Candidate
This role suits someone who enjoys working across both people and systems, someone who can zoom out to see the bigger picture but also dive into the detail to make things clearer.
You bring a balance of people leadership, process discipline and communication, and take pride in delivering outcomes the business can rely on.
You might come from a process improvement, business transformation, operations, or technology background, and be looking for a role where you can have real impact across a growing business.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading a transactional finance or shared services function (AP,AR, and/or Payroll)
- Strong people leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing teams
- A deep understanding of control, reconciliations and compliance across finance operations
- High attention to detail, with a zero-tolerance mindset for errors
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the business
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a drive to continuously improve how things are done
- Comfort working in a systems-driven environment and navigating process and technology change
CPA/CA qualification, enterprise agreement and construction industry experience are beneficial, but not essential.
