At McNab, we know that great capability does not happen by chance – it is built through strong partnerships, practical learning and a genuine commitment to helping people grow. We are looking for an experienced Learning Design Partner who brings curiosity, commercial thinking and a collaborative approach to creating learning that is relevant, engaging and delivers real impact.

About the role

Reporting to the Learning, Talent & Capability Manager, this role will play a pivotal part in strengthening capability across the McNab Group. You will partner with leaders and SMEs to understand learning needs, identify capability gaps and translate them into practical, targeted development solutions that support business priorities and the McNab Capability Framework.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with leaders across the business to identify, assess and prioritise learning and development needs aligned to strategy, operations and legislative requirements
  • Design and develop learning solutions, capability pathways and development initiatives across the employee lifecycle
  • Apply the ADDIE instructional design model (or build capability in it) to analyse learning needs, design, develop, implement and continuously evaluate learning solutions that drive measurable capability outcomes.
  • Create engaging learning resources, tools and measurement methods that support capability uplift and learning transfer in the workplace
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and operational leaders to ensure learning content is practical, relevant and effective
  • Manage and maintain the Learning Management System, including learning content, enrolments, compliance records, reporting and user experience
  • Monitor, analyse and report on learning participation, compliance completion, capability progression and learning effectiveness to support decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Use feedback, assessment results and operational performance insights to refine learning solutions and improve future program design

About you

We are looking for someone who brings both capability and credibility to the table – someone who can build trust quickly, influence stakeholders and design learning that makes a genuine difference.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Education or a related discipline
  • Proven experience designing and delivering impactful learning solutions, with the ability to apply instructional design principles (including ADDIE or similar frameworks) to create practical, engaging learning experiences.
  • Strong capability in analysing learning needs and developing tailored programs to address capability gaps
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence facilitating discussions and delivering engaging presentations
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to turn insight into action
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, quality and delivering learning that is relevant, measurable and aligned to business need
  • Experience in education or teaching is highly regarded. If you're looking to apply your teaching foundations in a corporate environment, we'd love to hear from you.
  • Ideally, Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent, and an understanding of the construction industry and compliance requirements
