About Supplyhaus

Supplyhaus, backed by the McNab Group, is reimagining construction supply. We specialise in providing and installing industry-leading façade, joinery and steel solutions, delivering high-quality building products with builder expertise.

Our Façade division delivers complex commercial glazing and façade packages across some of Queensland's most significant projects. As our pipeline continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced leader to drive the performance of our glazing design function and ensure every project is delivered with certainty, quality and technical excellence.

About the Role

As our Façade Design Manager, you'll lead the design delivery across multiple commercial and large-scale multi-residential façade projects.

Leading a team of Design Coordinators, drafters and offshore document controllers, you'll be responsible for forecasting workload, allocating resources and ensuring high-quality shop drawing packages are delivered on programme. You'll set realistic delivery commitments, proactively manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with Project Managers, clients, consultants and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving.

This is more than a technical leadership role. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead conversations, pick up the phone to resolve issues early, solve problems and create certainty for clients, project teams and the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Design team, including forecasting design workload and allocating resources to meet project programmes and delivery commitments.
  • Manage internal drafting capacity and engage external drafting resources where required, retaining accountability for quality, programme delivery and integration with project teams.
  • Deliver coordinated, accurate and buildable shop drawing packages ready for procurement, fabrication and installation.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with project specifications, Australian Standards and engineering requirements.
  • Select, engage and coordinate independent structural, thermal and acoustic façade engineering consultants to ensure timely integration into design documentation.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, clients and consultants to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Set realistic delivery expectations and communicate proactively regarding project risks or programme impacts.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the glazing design function, reducing rework and improving project outcomes.
  • Maintain high technical standards while supporting innovation and practical buildability.

About You

You're an experienced façade design leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, solving complex technical challenges and creating certainty for both clients and project teams.

You understand that great leadership isn't just about technical expertise—it's about setting realistic expectations, communicating openly and taking ownership of commitments. You're comfortable having honest conversations, making difficult decisions and working collaboratively to find practical solutions.

You'll also bring:

  • Extensive design experience within the commercial and/or large-scale multi-residential façade industry, with a solid technical understanding of façade systems, curtain wall and commercial glazing solutions.
  • Proven experience leading design teams within a façade, glazing or building products environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards including AS2047, AS1288, AS1170 and Section J.
  • Experience producing coordinated, buildable shop drawing packages and advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Proactive planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, allocate project resources and forecast future pipeline activities.
  • Excellent relationship manager with the confidence to lead discussions with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership capability with the desire to mentor and grow a successful team, delegate tasks and effectively manage performance.
  • Calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure.
  • High commercial awareness and the ability to make sound programme and resourcing decisions.
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively alongside other design leaders and project teams.
  • A commitment to accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing offshore drafting teams and consultant drafters (desirable).
  • Experience with HiCAD or other 3D modelling platforms would be advantageous.
  • Experience coordinating AS2047 and AS4284 testing programmes with offshore manufacturers is desirable but not required.

Why Join Supplyhaus?

At Supplyhaus, you'll have the opportunity to lead the design function behind some of Queensland's most complex façade projects while working alongside an experienced team that's committed to quality, innovation and collaboration.

As part of the broader McNab Group, you'll enjoy the stability of an established business with the opportunity to influence how our glazing design function continues to evolve.

You'll also enjoy:

  • Career pathways supported by coaching, mentoring and ongoing professional development.
  • Flexible leave benefits including birthday leave, leave purchasing and paid parental and secondary carer's leave.
  • Health and wellbeing benefits including Fitness Passport, annual wellbeing subsidy, group fitness training and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Access to workplace banking and an employee discounts portal featuring more than 1,000 exclusive offers.
  • Working collaboratively across teams to achieve the best outcome.
