- Full-time
Create the moments people remember.
Some people organise events. Others create experiences people talk about long after the last guest has left. We're looking for someone who knows the difference.
At McNab, we love bringing people together. We celebrate our wins, invest in relationships and believe a great experience can leave a lasting impression. From flagship corporate events and VIP experiences to client networking, project celebrations and opportunities further afield, we're ready to take things to the next level.
We're looking for an Events & Experiences Manager who can think strategically, challenge convention and turn ambitious ideas into exceptional experiences. Someone who can confidently influence, bring fresh thinking to the table and see the bigger picture, without ever losing sight of what it takes to deliver a great event.
About the role
This is a senior role, reporting to our Chief Marketing & Sales Officer and working closely with our CEO. You’ll shape and drive our events strategy, plan for the future and elevate our events and experiences to strengthen our brand and support business growth. You’ll identify new opportunities, lead the strategic planning of key events and mentor our Events Specialist, who will manage much of the day-to-day coordination and delivery.
That said, we’re a hands-on team. You’ll be right there alongside your Events Specialist when it matters, particularly for our major events. For our team, no job is too small when there’s a great event to deliver.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement McNab’s events strategy, aligned with business growth, brand positioning and relationship-building objectives.
- Lead the strategic planning and continual improvement of flagship events, including McNab Meetup, Corporate VIP and Partners in Business.
- Identify opportunities to create new events and experiences that support business development and growth across the McNab Group.
- Develop opportunities to expand our events into interstate and international markets, building supplier networks and establishing frameworks for client tours and industry experiences.
- Work closely with our CEO, Chief of Marketing and Sales and business leaders to develop event concepts, present recommendations and gain alignment on priorities.
- Lead and mentor our Events Specialist, providing direction, coaching and support while building their capability and ownership of day-to-day event delivery.
- Oversee the annual events calendar, budgets, timelines, suppliers and planning processes to ensure events are delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Establish clear objectives for key events, evaluate outcomes and stakeholder feedback, and continually look for ways to improve the experience and commercial impact.
- Get hands-on with event planning and delivery when required, including setup, logistics and pack-down, particularly during major events or when the team needs extra support.
About you
You’re an experienced events professional who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution. Commercially minded, naturally curious and always looking for ways to raise the bar, you’re confident challenging the status quo and holding your own with senior stakeholders.
You build trust, influence others and welcome different perspectives. You thrive under pressure, adapt when priorities shift and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach.
You’ll also bring:
- Extensive experience in developing and delivering strategic corporate events and experiences that achieve meaningful outcomes, with up to 1000pax.
- Experience across interstate or international events, corporate hospitality, client experiences or the construction and property industries will be advantageous.
- The ability to turn big ideas into practical, well-planned events, balancing creativity, quality, budgets and commercial objectives.
- Confidence working with senior executives, clients, business leaders and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, inquisitive mindset. You ask questions, challenge assumptions and constantly look for opportunities to improve.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop others while empowering them to take ownership.
- Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Resilience, sound judgement and a solutions-focused approach when things don’t go to plan. You can bring calm to the chaos and unexpected challenges on event day in your stride.
- A genuine team-first attitude. You lead by example, leave the ego at the door and understand that delivering a great result sometimes means getting your hands dirty.
- Experience using event management platforms, Microsoft 365 and CRM systems such as HubSpot, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline planning, improve the guest experience and measure event outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing, Business or a related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
