About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role offers exposure across multiple entities and business divisions within the McNab Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical detail and broader commercial impact, and is looking to continue developing their career within a high-performing and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities are varied and include month-end reporting, reconciliations, compliance, financial analysis and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
Additional duties will include:
- Prepare management accounts and financial analysis for monthly review.
- Complete mid-month and end-of-month balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and post payroll costing journals and month-end accruals.
- Support BAS and IAS preparation and lodgements across multiple entities.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, overhead forecasting and job costing reporting.
- Review debtor reporting, accounts payable ageing and financial commitments.
- Maintain fixed asset records and support broader compliance activities across the Group.
- Support corporate expense and credit card platform administration and reconciliations.
- Assist with FBT reporting and year-end compliance requirements.
- Build strong working relationships across finance and operational teams to support compliance and value-adding reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation, reporting enhancements and workflow efficiencies.
About you:
Your attention to detail, sense of urgency and motivation to succeed will see you thrive in this role. You are commercially minded, proactive in your approach and enjoy working within a fast-paced business environment.
As well as this you will:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Be working towards or have completed your CPA or CA qualification.
- Have strong financial reporting, reconciliation and compliance capability.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Be able to prioritise workload effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Have a proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience within the construction industry and exposure to construction-focused ERPs such as Jobpac will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to multi-entity environments, Power BI or process automation initiatives will be highly regarded.
