We’re looking for a Tender Submissions Officer to join our Bids team and help deliver high-quality submissions across the McNab Group – a values led, family business originated in Toowoomba 30 years ago.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who has a passion for writing, is naturally creative and has strong organisation and people skills.

About the Role

Reporting to the Tender Submissions Manager, you’ll support the coordination and delivery of tenders across McNab Building Services (MBS) and our broader construction business.

You’ll take ownership of smaller (Level 1) tenders - meaning lower-risk, fast-turnaround submissions - while supporting more complex bids as your experience and confidence grows.

Tenders are how construction companies win work. They combine storytelling, technical detail, programme, methodology and commercial thinking to demonstrate why we’re the right partner for a project.

Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate end-to-end delivery of smaller tenders (Level 1), ensuring deadlines are met
  • Proactively supporting the broader team with supporting material for larger tenders, EOIs and ECI submissions across the business – formatting CVs, updating capability statements, case studies
  • Work with Project Managers, Estimators and stakeholders to capture project information
  • Draft and refine written responses, turning technical data into clear, structured content (this is where your creativity will shine!)
  • Support bid tracking, CRM updates and pipeline visibility
  • Contribute to how we continuously improve our submissions and storytelling

The Ideal Candidate

This role suits someone who enjoys bringing structure to chaos, working to deadlines and shaping information into a clear, compelling story.

You might be:

  • A recent graduate (communications, marketing, journalism, business), or
  • Early in your career in bids, proposals, grants, marketing or coordination, or
  • In a role where you’ve had exposure to submissions, deadlines and stakeholder input

You’ll bring:

  • Strong written communication skills and a genuine interest in developing them further
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders to gather information
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset

Experience or exposure to tenders, bids, proposals or structured submissions is highly regarded — even if not from construction.

  • Microsoft Word proficiency is essential.
  • InDesign or similar tools are beneficial but not required.
  • Construction experience is not essential — we’ll teach you that.
